Doktorandid esinesid konverentsil St. Peterburi Mäeülikoolis. 21.- 23. aprill 2010.a.
21.-23. aprillis 2010.a. St. Peterburis, Venemaal toimus rahvusvaheline konverents „Topical Issues of Rational Use of Natural Resources“, kus oli esindatud 21 riiki, 63 ülikooli 221 ettekandega ja osavõtjate arv oli üle 380-ne.
Konverentsi tööst võtsid osa doktorandid Julija Šommet ja Aire Västrik, kus esitati kaks ettekannet. kus osalesid mäeinstituudi doktorandid.
Julija Šommet tegi suulise ettekanne teemal "Analyses of crushed limestone quality developed by different methods for conditions of sustainable mining" ja Aire Västriktegi suulise ettekanne teemal: „Redistricting of mineral deposits”. Konverentsil külastanud uus laborit.
Artiklid ilmunud konverentsi kogumikus „Проблемы Недропользования. Санкт-Петербургский Государственный Горный Инс. 2010“ ISBN 978-5-94211-446-6. Julia Šommet artikkel seotud Doktorikooli II aktsepteeritud interdistsiplinaarse uurimisgruppi teemaga „Sustainable mining: key challenges and opportunities to economic growth of mining waste management“.
